Crowd Clippers privacy policy

Updated 31 October 2026

This policy explains how Wiktis Pty Ltd (ABN 72 692 004 970) trading as Crowd ("Crowd", "we", "us") handles personal information in Crowd Clippers (the website, the web app and the iPhone and Android apps). We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

When you sign up or apply

  • Name, email, mobile number, date of birth, city and postcode.
  • Your social account handles, follower counts and the audience information you give us.
  • If you are an organiser: your business name, ABN and contact details.

When you connect a social account (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)

You sign in on the platform's own page; we never see your password. With your permission we receive read-only access to:

  • your profile (name, handle, profile picture, account type);
  • your posts and their view, like, comment and share counts;
  • audience statistics the platform provides (for example top cities and countries);
  • a secure access key (token) that lets us read this information. We store it encrypted.

We never post, message, follow, delete or change anything on your account.

When you verify your audience by screen recording

  • The recording you upload, showing your audience locations and the date.

When people use your code or link

  • That a link was tapped, approximately where from (city level, from the network address), the device type, and whether a sale followed. We do not identify the people who tap.

When you get paid

  • Stripe collects and holds your bank details and identity documents for payouts. We receive only what we need to pay you (for example that your account is verified and the last digits of your bank account).

When you use our apps and sites

  • Device and usage information, notification preferences, and (if you turn them on) push notification tokens and SMS consent records.

2. Why we collect it

  • To verify you are 18 or over and that accounts you connect are yours.
  • To check your audience matches a campaign's area.
  • To estimate local views and calculate what you earn.
  • To track sales made with your code.
  • To pay you and meet tax reporting duties (including the ATO's Sharing Economy Reporting Regime, if it applies).
  • To detect fake views and fraud.
  • To show organisers a limited profile of clippers on their campaigns (handle, platforms, approximate area, clip results). We do not share your contact details with organisers.
  • To send you campaign alerts you have asked for.
  • To improve Crowd Clippers, including combined, non-identifying statistics about how local campaigns perform.

3. Who we share it with

  • Organisers of campaigns you join: your public handle, the clips you submit and their results.
  • Service providers who help us run Crowd Clippers, under contract: Stripe (payments and payouts), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (SMS), email providers, and the platforms whose APIs we use (Meta, TikTok, Google).
  • Government where the law requires (for example the ATO).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Overseas disclosure

Some providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Twilio, Meta, TikTok and Google operate.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account and campaign records: while your account is open, then 7 years for tax and legal records of payments.
  • Access tokens: deleted as soon as you disconnect the account.
  • Screen recordings: 90 days after the campaign they verified ends, unless needed for a dispute.
  • Link-tap records: kept in identifiable form for 24 months, then only as combined statistics.

6. Security

We encrypt access tokens and use access controls, so only the systems that need information can read it. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC as the law requires.

7. Google and YouTube data

If you connect a YouTube account, Crowd Clippers uses YouTube API Services. We read your channel identity, your videos and their view counts, and your audience location statistics, only to confirm the channel is yours and to work out what a clip earns. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising. We share clip results with the organiser of the campaign only as described in section 3. Access keys are stored encrypted, and data read from YouTube is deleted within 7 days of a deletion request.

Using this feature means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service at youtube.com/t/terms. Google's Privacy Policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. You can remove our access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Disconnect any connected social account at any time in the platform's settings, or ask us to.
  • Access and correction: ask for a copy of your personal information or ask us to correct it.
  • Deletion: see crowdclippers.com/delete-my-data.
  • Alerts: unsubscribe from any email, or reply STOP to any SMS.

Email clippers@crowdclippers.com. We respond within 30 days.

9. Complaints

Contact us first at clippers@crowdclippers.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes

We will post changes here and tell you by email or in the app if a change is significant.
