Crowd Clippers terms for clippers
Updated 31 October 2026
These terms are between you (the clipper) and Wiktis Pty Ltd (ABN 72 692 004 970) trading as Crowd ("Crowd", "we", "us"). They apply when you join Crowd Clippers, connect an account, join a campaign or submit a clip. A plain summary of the key terms is shown when you sign up; please read it. These full terms control if anything differs.
1. What you do
You make short videos about events and post them on your own social accounts. Organisers pay through Crowd for local views of approved clips, and some campaigns also pay commission on sales made with your code.
2. Who can join
- You must be 18 or over. We check your date of birth at sign-up, and Stripe checks your identity before you are paid. Payouts are blocked if either check fails.
- You must live in Australia to be paid.
- One person, one Crowd account. You may connect more than one social account per platform up to each campaign's limit.
3. You are an independent contractor
- You are not an employee, agent or partner of Crowd or of any organiser. You decide how and when you make clips.
- You are responsible for your own tax. If you have an ABN, give it to us. If you do not give an ABN, the law may require us to withhold tax from your payments.
4. Connecting your social accounts
- You connect accounts through the platform's own sign-in (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). We never see your password.
- We ask for read-only access: your profile, your posts, view counts and audience statistics. We cannot post, message, delete or change anything on your account.
- You may disconnect at any time in Crowd or in the platform's settings.
- Until a platform's connection is available, you may verify an account with a one-time code placed in your bio for 10 minutes.
- You must only connect accounts you own and control.
5. Joining a campaign
- You can join a campaign if you meet its rules, including its target area and minimum local audience share.
- When 90% of a campaign's budget is committed, it closes to new clippers.
- When you join, you get a personal code and link for that campaign.
6. Posting clips
- Follow the brief and the organiser's brand rules.
- Mark every clip as an ad. Use the platform's paid partnership label or #ad (or "Paid partnership with [show]") in the first line of the caption. A clip without disclosure is held. If you fix it within 24 hours it continues; if not, it is rejected and not paid. Removing the disclosure later stops earnings from that point.
- Do not make false or misleading claims about the event.
- Only use footage you made or media the organiser supplied for the campaign.
- Submit each clip by pasting the link to your post. The post must be on an account you connected and must be public.
7. What you earn
- Rate. Each campaign pays A$1, A$3, A$5 or A$10 per 1,000 local views. You keep 100% of the rate.
- Local views. We count views using our published method "How we count local views". In short: views multiplied by your estimated audience share in the campaign's area (or, on YouTube, the platform's per-video location data), excluding suspected fake or bought views.
- Earning window. A clip earns on views in the 14 days after it is posted, then its count is locked and checked for 3 days.
- Minimum. A clip must reach 1,000 local views to be paid.
- Caps. A campaign may set a cap per clip. If your audience is verified only by screen recording (for example on TikTok), your earnings are capped at A$150 per campaign, and you must re-verify every 30 days.
- Budget. Clips are paid from the campaign budget in the order their views are checked. If the budget runs out, views after that date are not paid; we tell you the date. Commission on sales continues as the campaign states.
- Approval. Organisers may approve clips first. They may reject only for a reason in the brief or these terms. Clips not reviewed within 72 hours are approved automatically. You can ask a Crowd reviewer to look again at a rejection.
- Commission. Where a campaign offers it, you earn commission on paid sales made with your code or link through Crowd. Commission clears after the refund window or the day after the event, whichever is sooner. If a sale is refunded or charged back, its commission is reversed.
8. Getting paid
- Joining and getting paid are free.
- When you first earn, we ask you to connect a bank account through Stripe. Stripe holds your bank and identity details.
- Payouts are made monthly, free of charge, once your cleared balance is A$50 or more. Smaller balances roll over.
- Optional Instant cash-out: you may withdraw a cleared balance immediately for a fee of about 1.5% (shown before you confirm).
- If commission you were paid is later reversed, the amount is taken from your next earnings.
9. Fake views and fraud
- Do not buy views, use bots, use view-for-view groups, repost other people's videos, or misstate your audience.
- A first confirmed case forfeits that clip's earnings.
- A second confirmed case forfeits all pending earnings and closes your account.
- We never take back money already paid to you, except by reversing the payment for the specific fraudulent clip.
- Before a decision we tell you what we found and give you a chance to respond.
10. Your content
- You own your clips.
- You give the organiser of the campaign a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to share, repost and embed your approved clip with credit to you, for promoting that event.
- Paid advertising with your clip (for example partnership ads or Spark Ads) needs your separate permission, which you can give per clip in Crowd.
- You give Crowd a licence to show your approved clips on Crowd's sites and social accounts to promote Crowd Clippers, with credit. You can ask us to stop for any clip.
11. Working with organisers outside Crowd (non-circumvention)
- If you work with an organiser on a Crowd campaign, then for 24 months after your last campaign together, any paid promotion you do for that organiser must be arranged through Crowd, or a conversion fee applies.
- Conversion fee: 15% of all payments you receive from that organiser for promotion in the first 12 months of working directly, with a minimum of A$2,500.
- This does not apply to: (a) an organiser you had a documented working relationship with before your first Crowd campaign together; (b) unpaid posts you choose to make; (c) employment unrelated to promotion.
12. Suspension and closing your account
- You may close your account at any time. Cleared earnings of any amount are paid out on closing, subject to clause 9.
- We may suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, the law or platform rules. We tell you why unless the law prevents it.
13. Australian Consumer Law and liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for changes to platform data, rules or availability outside our control.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect from you and your connected accounts and how we use it: crowdclippers.com/privacy. Data deletion: crowdclippers.com/delete-my-data.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms with at least 30 days' notice by email and in the app. Changes do not reduce what you have already earned. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the change starts.
16. Disputes
- Contact us first at clippers@crowdclippers.com. We will try to resolve any dispute within 30 days.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction.
